The Panther (Ogden Nash)

I’ve mentioned before that I enjoy light verse because a dash of humor brings perspective. At some point in our marriage (probably the first decade), my wife introduced me to Ogden Nash, and he has remained a favorite author of light verse.

Light verse has found its way into all of my books, most recently Cat Show. As it happens, one of my favorite Ogden Nash poems is also about a cat (though a much bigger one than any I’ve owned). “The Panther” is just six lines (a ten second read) with an ending that pounces on the funny bone. Take a moment to read it: http://thingfinder.blogspot.com/2008/10/panther-by-ogden-nash.html
