The Anonymity of Waiting Now Available

My fourth full-length book of poetry, The Anonymity of Waiting, is now available on Amazon in paperback and e-book versions 😊 I hope folks will check it out and order one. Heck, order a few and give poetry for Christmas πŸ˜‰πŸŽ…

The Anonymity of Waiting

The longer I wait in this pub,
the more I become part of the furniture,
something people scan
along with the mahogany bar,
slate tabletops,
and reclaimed wood booth
where I sit.

Dust hangs in the slanting sun,
the salt shaker is a sundial
whose shadow never moves,
and I fade
behind the vacant windows of my glasses,
waiting and waiting

until

a voice crossing a chasm
with echos
or calling from another dimension
reclaims me from this wood box
and raises me to my feet
by speaking my name.
